What can I expect during an in-home nail trim?

Services are scheduled within a one-hour window, so if you book a 3pm nail trim, please be available between 2:30 and 3:30pm. Since working with animals can be unpredictable, exact times aren't guaranteed. Ensure your pet is ready and available to avoid delays. If your cat is hiding under the bed, we won't be able to complete the service.

We will enter your home, greet your pets and discuss a game plan. We bring all necessary supplies- but we do ask that you assist in holding and comforting your pet if needed. If we are unable to safely trim your pet's nails, we will still have to charge for your appointment, but can work on some positive associations and discuss a plan for future appointments.
Once the service is complete, we will settle payment and schedule your next visit if applicable.

Why choose in-home nail trims instead of a groomer or vet clinic?

Many pets become stressed during travel, in noisy grooming salons, or around unfamiliar animals. In-home nail trims allow your pet to stay relaxed in their normal environment while receiving one-on-one attention and gentle handling.

Do you work with anxious or difficult pets?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but with exceptions. We regularly work with pets who are sensitive to handling, elderly, or anxious during grooming. Every appointment is approached with patience, species-appropriate handling, and your pet’s comfort in mind. If you have a pet that is known to bite or is extremely fearful, please let us know- we are not equipped to safely handle these cases.

If your pet needs time to warm up to strangers or the idea of grooming, we can discuss scheduling visits focused on associating grooming with reward and happy feelings before attempting an actual groom.

How often should my pet’s nails be trimmed?

Most pets benefit from nail trims every 4–8 weeks, though this varies depending on activity level, nail growth, species, and medical conditions. We recommend setting up a recurring schedule to ensure your pet's nails never get too long.

How long does a nail trim take to complete?

Accepted Answer

It depends on whether you are a new or recurring client, and what type of animal your pet is. We spend a few minutes on a calm greeting to set the tone for the visit. We work swiftly to avoid your pet getting frustrated or stressed. The appointment should take no longer than 10-15 minutes. Visits that require extended time due to anxious or fearful pets will be subject to an additional charge.

Payment and Cancellation Policy

Payment is due at the time of service. A credit/debit card on file is required to book appointments. You may pay in cash at the time of the appointment, otherwise the card on file will be charged before we start the appointment. 
Cancellations made within less than 24 hours of the appointment, no- shows, and clients that are not prepared for the appointment are charged full price. We are not responsible for harm or damage that is caused by your pet during the appointment.

Do you sedate pets for nail trims?

No, we do not provide sedation. If your pet requires sedation for grooming or nail care, we recommend speaking with your veterinarian.
